006-04 — We Cry for Renewal
Published by Jeff, on November 25th, 2001 in 006 Calling God to Act (Habakkuk).SCRIPTURE: Habakkuk 3
Long ago, in a galaxy far, far away…Doesn’t it seem that all the greatest stories happened in the distant past in far off locations? Doesn’t it seem that God’s activity is just a part of history? When was the last time you saw God divide the waters of Lake Michigan? If God is eternally the same, then shouldn’t he be doing miraculous things today?

Finally, we’re getting somewhere. God promises Habakkuk that he will judge the wicked people of the world. However, the promise is not all rosy and happy. God’s promise for judgment contains some things that would scare even the most faithful follower. Do we have reason to be scared?

God is sometimes very confusing. Just when we think we understand Him pretty well, He goes and does something that surprises us. 006-01 — We Cry for Justice
Published by Jeff, on November 4th, 2001 in 006 Calling God to Act (Habakkuk).SCRIPTURE: Habakkuk 1:1-4
I’m frustrated with a world full of rotten people who seem to succeed in life despite their wickedness, but I’m not alone. Habakkuk was a man who lived quite some time ago, but the issues he faced in his day are remarkably similar to those we face today.

Greetings, interesting article. There are a few people who would disagree with you, for starters take Johm MacArthur. He recently opened up his 40 year vault of messages free to the public. He has 100s of messages devoted to the 5 points of Calvinism, which he strongly supports. He also has many messages on a pre-trib rapture, which he also supports. Boice, Barnhouse, Lutzer, etc. are just a few of the well known preachers who are 5 point and pre-trib. S. Lewis Johnson, considered by some the greatest exposito of the 20th century, was also Calvinistic and believed in the rapture. So, there are a few men who have studied the scriptures far more than you and I who came to a different conclusion.
